The Light We Give.

the trip to cambodia was definitely much more rewarding than anyone expected, in all aspects. learning wasnt just from the cambodians, but also from friends of this trip themselves. we, facing a language barrier problem, even had to have one of the students there to translate for us to get our instructions across the classroom. and of course learning from the problems that other ocip mates faced. everyone of us was willing to help one another, which is wat i think really helped us to bond.
but i think the most important point still has to be the value of water. the sight of the kids hankering after our bottles of water was most heartbreaking, and as much as we wanted to give them our bottles, we could not. the kids seem to drink little water, or maybe even none at all. at least to make them desperate enough to ask for our bottles.
contributing like any other mission opic-ers, though not as active as some, participation in the classroom acts, mixing of cement, carrying cement over. everyone had their own part, and had a chance of trying new things. as much as everyone could, we did our best in everything and anything, after all its all for the cambodians.
another heart warming thing would be to know that everyone of us out there would be looking out for one another. even things as simple as warning each other could sometimes bring a smile to the heart.
i wish i knew what i was writing. lol. but i believed that this trip was definitely worth it no matter wat other sacrifices have had been made. ocip is definitely recommended.Labels: Alfred
