I'm pretty sure many of us have not seen this wooden scaffold in our lives before, and I am not an exception.
All of us know that we are fortunate, however through this trip, i am able to realised to what extent am i really fortunate in Singapore with the potable water from any water taps to the materials that we possess.
Drinking water is often taken for granted in Singapore, not to mention bathing water. I am sure most of the Cambodian kids take a bath once in two days or even less than that because of the scarcity of water.
Back to the picture.
We had a metal scaffold to climb on during the painting of the higher walls of the building. However, only three people could be on it, and the others would be slacking around.
The construction workers taught me a new thing over there: making use of your surrounding resources to come out with something that will help > improvising.
They not only made use of the tree branches to build a scaffold, they also made use of long tree branches to attach a paintbrush on top so we could paint the higher ends. (A pity, there wasn’t any picture of it.)
Many times in life, we always have a ‘don’t care lar.’ attitude when we encounter problems. We don't bother finding ways to realistically solve them and just leave it lying. Instead, we should find methods to solve our problems and not just give it up.
The trip has been really enjoyable and I truly look forward to the trip back!
